Outdoor Beauty.

Taking advantage of the prolific yellow blooms along Kansas roadsides, 3 types of 'sunflowers' were brought into the classroom for art.
Some students knew a bit about the huge 'edible' sunflowers, but they all could observe the differences amoungst these: petal shape and size, stem color, leaves... We broke open the type with the brown center and even looked at the tinier version of the seed itself.

"Agriculture" Field Trip

The afternoon graphics class got the opportunity to walk across the football field to obtain some information on AGRICULTURE. Using our new digital camera's, they took some pictures of equipment used in the nearby alfalfa field. James, a former KSU Ag student, was kind enough to field their questions concerning the importance of alfalfa. Students will be using their photos to create brochures/flyers/pamphlets about Kansas Agriculture and its importance.
